About Jacklyn A. Belmonte
A Connecticut native, Jackie attended Hartt School of Music where she designed the first musical theatre curriculum at Hartt in conjunction with the University of Hartford Drama department. While at Hartt Jackie studied musical theatre interpretation with Robert Hess, piano with Paul Rutman, and drama with Dr. Gerald Forbes. Jackie went on to earn her degree from Manhattanville College, where she studied piano with Dr. Francis Brancaleone. For her senior thesis, Jackie wrote, cast, rehearsed, directed, and accompanied the first “all music” thesis presentation entitled “Autumn In New York - a musical journey”.
Jackie has conducted numerous pit orchestras and casts for Regional Theatre including The Old Place in Hartford, CT, Summer Stock Theatre including Mt. Washington Valley Theatre Company in North Conway, NH, and Candlewood Playhouse in Danbury, CT, Dinner Theatre including Darien Dinner Theatre and Westchester Broadway Theatre. Jackie’s conducting experience also includes light opera productions for CT-based Trouper’s Light Opera, as well as extensive experience conducting Church choirs and serving as organist throughout CT. Jackie also performs regularly in pit orchestras throughout CT schools.
Jackie taught at Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Camp in Loch Sheldrake, NY, where many a Broadway performer began, and has many years of experience as a vocal coach for students and adults alike, privately and in a classroom setting. Jackie is also a busy accompanist, working with many CT schools on their musical theatre productions and with schools and community choirs on their yearly concerts.
